Welcome! Soothe the Spirit is dedicated to the understanding and practice of sacred ceremonies. This site will help you find and/or create a ceremony to soothe your spirit and celebrate your life. It is based upon the work of Becky Burns, author of Soothe the Spirit: Blessings and Rituals for Energy Enhancement. The book is a step-by-step guide to understanding the energy of manifestation and offers simple sacred ceremonies to honor life transitions and to nourish your soul.  
      Are you interested in clearing energy? Expressing gratitude? Manifesting a heart’s desire? Want a perfectly simple ceremony to honor a life transition? Then you are in the right place. The ceremonies described on this web site are very simple and direct, using materials that are easily accessible. Unlike many religions or spiritual traditions, there is no “wrong way” to complete these ceremonies. The rituals and blessing offered here are nurturing and unique – you are encouraged to place your individual signature on each and every one. The index to your left will provide a guide to get you started.
      The ceremonies are designed for an event or experience in your life that you wish to bring into being (manifesting a dream or desire); celebrate (new beginnings or gratitude) or grieve (loss and personal healing). The section on clearing energy is a good first step for releasing old patterns that are no longer working. The cycles of nature rituals can assist with an overall life plan, such as meeting a goal or experiencing success.
      Since an understanding of how your own life experiences are attempting to guide you and how energy is currently activated in your life, some basic and foundational information is provided regarding co-creation. How do your own actions and the events of the universe attune and synchronize? How can you impact your future and realize your dreams?
      Your life will be enriched by engaging in a spiritual practice that is meaningful to you. Look through the suggestions and then either follow the ideas or create your own ceremony. The key is to engage in an action that holds meaning for you and feels right to your unique spirit.
